Dean Henderson: Manchester United’s first choice goalkeeper?
Sheffield United and Manchester United bosses begin talks over Dean Henderson’s future next season.
Chris Wilder, Sheffield United boss, confirmed initial talks have begun with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Manchester United manager, over bringing Henderson back to Manchester next season.
Henderson has been on loan from fellow Premier League club Manchester United, as “number 1 goalkeeper”. Solskjaer believes the 23-year-old has proved he will progress to become a “first-choice” keeper for Man Utd.
During an online conference, Wilder expected to be keeping Henderson until the end of this season but added that Solskjaer has been very “pro Dean staying and was delighted in what Dean has produced”.
Wilder added that Sheffield United would be open to Henderson returning, however, he has got huge respect for Manchester United and Henderson is currently their player. He believes they will make the best decision for everyone, in conjunction with Henderson.
Despite this, Wilder is hoping to be working on a “separate longer-term contract deal”.
