Sheffield United robbed by Goal Line Technology

scott brown news.jpg

During the 42nd minute of the Aston Villa Vs Sheffield United match, Sheffield scored a goal, but ref’s watch doesn’t buzz!

Sharp won a free kick on the left, curling it towards the far post. Orjan Nyland, Aston Villa’s keeper, seemed to be uncomfortable when collecting the ball, then stepped over the goal line.

Despite being replayed, and confirmed the ball did in fact go over the line, the referee’s watch did not buzz meaning the goal was not allowed. The technology is meant to be infallible, but if it was broken, should have easily been overruled by VAR.

Commentators and viewers alike, except Aston Villa fans, accept that it was a goal and subsequently agree that Sheff Utd was robbed!

A recent update from the ref’s booth have stated that the technology is working and should be in full effect in the 2nd half.
